Appointment of New CTO

From Intern to Chief Technical Officer.

Michael Botha’s journey with Acumen Software began in 2018 when he joined the team as a development intern while in his first year of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, specialising in Informatics, at the University of Stellenbosch.

While balancing full-time studies with hands-on work experience at Acumen, Michael demonstrated exceptional dedication and talent. After graduating in 2021, he transitioned into a full-time role as a Software Developer and quickly began rising through the ranks.

Over the years, Michael has held several key technical leadership positions within the company, including Software Development Team Leader, Junior Solutions Architect, Solutions Architect, and Enterprise Architect. Each role reflected his growing expertise, strategic thinking, and deep understanding of Acumen’s technology ecosystem.

Today, we are proud to announce Michael’s promotion to Chief Technical Officer.

Michael’s attention to detail, technical insight, and commitment to excellence have played a significant role in shaping Acumen Software into the company it is today. As he steps into this new leadership position, he follows in the footsteps of Acumen Software co-founder Peter Hellberg, continuing a strong tradition of technical innovation and vision.
